This project focuses on the flying organisms that impact the health and productivity of crop yield. The project aims to develop the ability to count the number of insects that are trapped by a typical sticky trap. This number of trapped insects is subject to a scalable proportion; that is, the number of insects and pests increase and decrease based on the month, season, weather, climate and migratory periods. Such changes in the number of insects play a major role in the yield of the crops; impacted factors include the extent of pollination, extent of bacterial infections caused, and the quantity of pesticides required by the farmer.
